Marshland Undergoing a Major Data Processing Conversion - July 1 - July 4
Marshland Credit Union is upgrading our data processing system in order
to serve our members better and more efficiently in the future. The
conversion will begin after the close of business Friday, June 30th. The
credit union will be closed from Saturday, July 1 until Wednesday, July 5.
During the conversion process, there are several important things that
will affect you over the July 4th holiday weekend. Below we have listed
some items so you can prepare accordingly:
- You will not have access to online banking or telephone banking.
- ATM card and Visa® debit card PIN transactions will be limited. Any
transaction requiring your 4 digit PIN will be affected.
- Plan your cash needs during this holiday period by visiting the credit
union on Friday, June 30.
- Visa credit cards will function as usual.
- Visa debit card transactions that do not require a PIN will function as
usual. Your Visa debit card can be used at merchants without using
your PIN as these transactions will not be affected.
The credit union and all electronic systems will reopen and be ready to
serve our members on the morning of July 5th. One of the changes you
will see after the conversion is the new look of our home banking
service. In addition, suffixes will change, but the account descriptions
should be similar. Members utilizing bill payment will need to set up
their payees again because we will be unable to convert your existing
payees. Marsh-line, our telephone banking service, will also have new
suffixes. We will let you know all about the changes as soon as we are
up and running on the new system.
Please bear with us as our staff becomes proficient with our new
system. Teller transactions, member service and loan transactions will
take longer the first week, and we expect heavy lobby traffic after being
closed for the long holiday weekend. But any delays will be temporary
and we expect not only to be back up to speed within a few weeks, but
able to serve you more efficiently than ever before.
Thank you for your patience as we prepare ourselves to serve you better
in the future. |
Marshland Credit Union Holds 53rd Annual Meeting
The 53rd Annual Meeting of the membership was held on
March 21, 2006 at Brunswick High School. Special guest, Dr.
Michael Bull, Superintendent of Glynn County Schools,
presented his vision of the future for our schools.
Chairman of the Board, Elton Hinson introduced the new name
of Marshland Community Federal Credit Union to the
membership. More than 200 members attended the meeting and
enjoyed a pot roast dinner provided by Grandy’s Country
Cupboard.
The terms for two seats on the Board of Directors expired this
year. The Nominating Committee selected Verma Shurling and
William Rayburn, each to serve a 3-year term. Having received
no qualified petitions from the membership, Mrs. Shurling and
Mr. Rayburn were elected by acclamation.
The Scholarship Committee reported the selection of three area
high school seniors, who will each receive a $1,500 award
toward their college expenses. Several door prizes were given
throughout the meeting, and one lucky member received the
grand prize of $500.
Mr. Hinson offered a special thanks to the Annual Meeting
Committee, consisting of Shannon Clark and Judy Wright, for
their hard work to make the meeting a success. Also, a special
thank-you to all who assisted and especially to our members
for their patronage.
