Marshland Credit Union held a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 25, 2008, at Marshland’s Nahunta Branch. Opened in 1998, the Nahunta Branch recently underwent a much needed renovation. In addition to increasing the size of the branch’s lobby area to approximately 500 square feet, a drive-through window was added for the convenience of Marshland’s Brantley County members.
On hand to assist in the ribbon cutting was W. E. Rayburn, who served as Chairman of the Board of Directors when the Nahunta Branch first opened. Branch Manager Esther Townsend, Tim Sawyer, President of the Brantley County Chamber of Commerce and Jeff Holcombe, Marshland’s President and CEO also attended the ceremony. Mr. Holcombe spoke briefly at the ceremony, thanking Jimmy Fullard, President of Southern Contractors for their fine work on the project.
Esther Townsend, along with her staff, Tina Chancey, Melody Moore and Jamie McCarty, suffered through months of renovations. But now that the remodeling is finished, everybody agrees it was worth it.
